for 1930, 28in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (by the makers in 2000, barrel number 10182), rib engraved 'BOSS & CO. 16. MOUNT STREET. LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, removable striker discs, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, triggerplate engraved 'Boss's patent no. 22894', bright finish, 14 3/4in. figured replacement stock (cast on for the left shoulder), weight 5lb. 12oz., in a wooden case with Elmo-fur interior
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was completed in 1930 for the Lord Joicey of Ford Castle, Berwick-upon-Trent.
