BIRMINGHAM', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 3/4 choke in both, minor bulge at muzzle right barrel, diminutive treble-grip action with carved percussion fences, diminutive toplever, rebounding sidelocks with swept-back low profile hammers of hare's-ear form, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of colour-hardening and finish, 13 3/4in. stock, sugar-tong snap fore-end with sculpted horn finial, weight 3lb. 14oz., in a fitted (later) case
