A 9mm (PARA) MAUSER MANUFACTURED WALTHER P38 SERVICE PISTOL, serial no. 1623, with service holster,
the pistol dated for 1942, with exposed 4 7/8in. sighted barrel, open slide with waffenampt stamps 'byf' manufacturer's code and side safe, exposed hammer, blued frame with double action trigger mechanism, moulded dark brown bakelite grips, marked magazine, light storage stains but generally with much original finish throughout and together with a certificate of proof and a period hardshell black leather holster dated 1943
