A RARE 7.62x51mm (NATO) 'MODEL L42A1' BOLT-MAGAZINE SNIPER RIFLE, serial no. M33831,
converted at Enfield in 1971 from a BSA 1944 dated No.4T, 27 1/2in. free-floating hammer-forged nitro reproved barrel (in 1994), block and blade fore-sight, folding aperture rear sight, receiver fitted with a 'Telescope Straight Sighting L1A1' telescopic sight and marked 'TEL. STG. No 32 MK.3. OS 2039 A' with a line through it, and 'NO. 26038. 1240-99-963-2063. TEL. STRT. STG. L1A1. OS 2429 G.A.', in quickly-detachable mount, the mount marked 'M33900' with a line through it, and 'M33831', the receiver marked on the left side 'L42A1' the Enfield trademark and '71', the butt-stock collar marked on the left 'M47C. 1944. M33831.', manual safety, detachable box magazine marked 'CR141A 65 and 'M33831', (with two unmarked spares), halfstock, single barrel band, sling swivels, raised cheekpiece, 13in. pull including brass buttplate with central trapdoor, weight 10lb.
