".375 2 1/2" CASE", 63 PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON. "40GRS. CORDITE & 270 GRS. BULLET".', elongated treble-grip action with removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, fine acanthus scroll engraving with ornate bordering, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/4in. well-figured pistolgrip stock strengthened at head and with cheekpiece, engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, sling swivels and including 3/4in. rubber recoil pad, bolstered fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 9lb. 14oz., in its brass-cornered leather case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this rifle was completed in 1904 as a shop order. The first owner was Col. J.R. Jordon and the records indicate that the rifle was subsequently re-sold by the makers in 1921 to Capt. R.A. Warters.
