circa 1930, 28in. nitro barrels with sunken rib gold-inlaid '2' at the breech end, the tubes engraved 'MIDLAND GUN CO. LONDON & BIRMINGHAM.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and full choke, treble-grip scooped-back action with hidden third bite, side-clips, bolstered stepped sides, toplever gold-inlaid '2', manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, Lard patent single trigger, the triggerplate mounted selector switch with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening, 14 3/4in. stock (swept at comb) including 1 3/4in. wooden extension, bolstered fore-end, weight 6lb. 5oz., in a leather double guncase
