A .577/450 MARTINI HENRY MARK II ARTILLERY CARBINE, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number, circa 1880s, with 20 1/2 in. sighted barrel, welded saw-cut at breach, receiver bridge with back-to-back 'R' mark (for condemned barrel) and traces of inspection and proof marks, plus 'sold out of service' double-arrow and 'S - X' (strengthened extractor) stamping, falling block action, walnut stock, butt with Enfield roundel, sold out of service mark and brass butt disc stamped '5.94 / V / 1. K T. A. / 570', complete with sling swivels and cleaning rod, worn, metalwork stripped of finish and heavily rubbed, with no visible details on receiver sides, , butt plate rusted, 37 1/2 in. overall
