circa 1980, with blued 19in. barrel, tunnel fore-sight with replaceable elements, adjustable rear-sight, rotary tap-action breech, blued air-chamber with machined dove-tails for a telescopic sight, side-lever cocking handle, olive green stained beech half-stock of angular form, the whole in collectors external condition and fitted with a pair of single-screw 'Sportsmatch' 1in. ring-mounts
Provenance: The Hammerli 420 is usually found with a green abs plastic 'para-military' style stock. This rifle with its green-stained wood-stock may have been a late effort to broaden its appeal
