circa 1865, with three-groove 21 5/8in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, carbine-style elevating ladder rear-sight, flip-open breech marked with the Snider arrow trademark, numbered '66' to underside and with sprung thumb-catch, the upper edge of receiver stamped '251', borderline engraved lock with 'TOWER' signature and crown stamp at tail, chequered walnut full-stock, iron heel-plate and trigger guard with raised chequered spur, the former with border engraving to top-spur, two iron barrel bands and jag-tipped iron clearing-rod
