STANBURY & STEVENS. EXETER.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, sideclipped treble-grip action, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, non-selective single trigger, border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding vignettes of pigeon in flight, 14 1/4in. semi-pistolgrip stock, weight 7lb. 2oz., in a brass-cornered oak and leather case
Provenance: The vendor has kindly provided us with the following information:
"…It was sold in the first instance to the noted shotgun shooting instructor Percy Stanbury, at the time he was engaged along with his partner Stevens in the gun trade, based in Exeter. He went on to sell this gun to a retired Indian Army officer by the name of Tweedy. This officer in turn sold the gun to John Westaway who took the gun back to his home in Co. Mayo in the town of Ballina."
