A CASED PAIR OF 28-BORE FLINTLOCK DUELLING PISTOLS, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1785, with rebrowned slightly swamped octagonal 9in. barrels, the top-flats signed in script 'CLARK, HOLBORN LONDON', London proofs, gold-lined touch-holes, twin engraved bands at breeches, white metal fore-sights at muzzles and shallow standing notch rear-sights to the engraved top-tangs, flat step-tailed locks with carved borders and signed 'CLARK' below the shallow pans, swan-necked cocks with safes, roller frizzens, walnut full-stocks with semi slab-sided grips, guarded single set triggers and horn-tipped under-barrel ramrods, in a dark oak period casing lined and compartmented in green baize (trade label removed) and including a flask, turn-screw, wad-punch, scissors mould and later loading-rod
