circa 1860, with relined octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 32in. barrel, the top-flat near breech with refreshed signature 'SMITH & ALDEN 55 PARLIAMENT ST, LONDON', dove-tailed block mount at muzzle fitted with a later spirit-level tunnel fore-sight, intermediate sight fitted with three flush-folding un-notched blades, each with platinum centreline, platinum plug at breech, plain top-tang (possibly replaced) with dove-tail for a vernier aperture sight (currently fitted with a quality modern replacement), border and scroll engraved bar-action lock signed 'SMITH & ALDEN' (rubbed), walnut half-stock with chequered pistol-grip, iron furniture and replacement ramrod
