for 1886, 27 1/2in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (in 1987), the rib engraved '7415. G. E. LEWIS. TREBLE-GRIP, CHOKE BORE, HONORS PARIS, 1878. SYDNEY, 1880. MELBOURNE, 1881. CALCUTTA, 1884. 32 & 33, LOWER LOVEDAY STREET. BIRMINGHAM.' (likely refreshed), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, left wall at 17-, Anson & Deeley 1883 patent treble-grip action, no. 1833 of 1883, use number 2663, Westley Richards 1871 patent toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, (catch likely replaced), fine acanthus scroll engraving with 'G. E. Lewis in central scrolling banners, the floorplate engraving refreshed and reblued, the triggerguard with a pointer (refreshed), 14 1/2in. boldly-figured replacement stock with chequered side panels and with matching bolstered fore-end wood, fore-end with Deeley & Edge patent release and horn finial, weight 5lb. 12oz.
