A CONTINENTAL CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION REVOLVER SIGNED DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, no visible serial number,
almost certainly a Francotte produced licenced Belgian copy circa 1862, with 6 1/2in. octagonal barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, plain top-strap signed 'DEANE ADAMS & DEANE, 30 KING WILLIAM STREET LONDON' on two lines, shallow standing notch rear-sight, borderline and scroll engraved two-part frame, plain five-shot cylinder, double action mechanism with spurred hammer, swept chequered walnut grip, moulded iron butt-cap and Kerr-style rammer to left side of barrel, the whole an older London blue refinish, in an oak casing with strung edges (small losses), the interior lined and compartmented in the Continental fashion in red velvet and including a steel mould, flask, nipple-key, turn-screw, wad-punch, oil-bottle, cleaning rod, stand of spare nipples and a charge measure
