circa 1850, with blued 4 7/8in. barrel, Birmingham proofs, bead fore-sight at muzzle, standing notch rear-sight to top of standing breech, articulated loading lever to left hand side of barrel, two-piece screwed plain open frame, plain five-shot cylinder, spurless hammer with 'J' shaped exposed safety spring, double action only trigger and chequered walnut grips with thumb-web stop to the iron back-strap, domed pommel, traces of original blued finish remaining
