A SUBSTANTIAL 4-BORE SNIDER PATENT PUNT GUN SIGNED BURY, no visible serial number, in a later case,
the gun circa 1895 but converted from a pre-existing bank-gun, with 40in. barrel including reinforced off-set muzzle, the top-flat near breech marked 'CONVERTED BY J. NEWARK, COVENTRY', colour hardened borderline engraved flip-open breech with sprung thumb-catch, engraved colour hardened top-tang, border and scroll engraved back-action lock signed 'BURY', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, the heel fitted with an iron faced cork pad and bored through for an arrestor-rope, twin barrel cross-keys, escutcheon at wrist crudely initialled 'M.e.d.', the whole refinished, in a later oak casing housing the broken-down gun together with a number of re-useable cartridge hulls, various tools and other sundries
