A PAIR OF 25-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-BARRELLED OFFICER'S PISTOLS OF DUELLING STYLE, no visible serial numbers, in a later case,
circa 1790, with slightly swamped 8 3/4in. octagonal barrels, the top-flats signed 'LONDON', private proofs and engraved bands at breeches, iron top-tangs, plain borderline engraved brushed bright locks with stepped and pointed tails and signed 'DAWES' below the shallow pans, swan-necked cocks with safes and roller frizzens, walnut full-stocks with semi slab-sided chequered grips, brass furniture and brass mounted mahogany ramrods, in a later mahogany casing converted for these pistols with added accessories
