A CASED 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRANTER'S PATENT TRIGGER-COCKING REVOLVER, serial no. 6430T,
second series circa 1855, with octagonal 6 1/4in. barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, engraved band at muzzle, standing notch rear-sight to the rear of the solid border-engraved top-strap, borderline and scroll engraved frame, plain five-shot cylinder with borderline engraving and a rope-twist band to leading edge, trigger-cocking action with spur-less hammer, inverted 'Y' shaped safe spring, detachable Tranter's patent rammer, exposed cocking trigger below the guard and chequered walnut one-piece semi saw-handled grip with flared pommel and moulded iron cap, slight traces of original finish remaining and in its original mahogany storage case lined and compartmented in green baize, complete with flask, mould, loading rod, nipple-key and turn-screw plus period tins for bullets and lubricating compound
