A CASED 50-BORE PERCUSSION POCKET PISTOL SIGNED 'DERINGER', no visible serial number,
circa 1845 and almost certainly spuriously signed, with ovoid 2 3/4in. rifled barrel, the sighting plane with stamped signature, applied shallow fore-sight, borderline and scroll engraving to breech, engraved top-tang with shallow notch rear-sight, diminutive curved borderline and scroll engraved back-action lock, applied white metal moustache below the nipple shield, walnut full-stock with chequered birdshead grip and schnabel tip, white metal trigger guard bow and inlaid decoration, in a probably period fitted case lined in red felt, complete with diminutive flask, a loading rod and cap-tin
