A 54-BORE PERCUSSION TRANSITIONAL REVOLVER SIGNED DOOLEY, LIVERPOOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with octagonal 6 1/2in. barrel signed 'DOOLEY, LIVERPOOL' on the top-flat, engraved band to the radiused muzzle, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, wedge barrel key, plain six-shot cylinder with scroll engraving over each chamber, moulded nipple guard with full under-strap, border and scroll engraved rounded action with offset central bar hammer and guarded trigger, finely chequered walnut grip and moulded grip-cap with central trap, the whole an older London re-blue (some isolated pitting)
