circa 1880, serial number on loop only, 42 1/4in. nitro reproved bold damascus barrel engraved 'WM. ATKINSON. LANCASTER & KENDAL' and with short sight flat at the breech end, carved percussion fence with engraved arcading to the standing breech, Jones patent rotary underlever, rebounding back-action lock, border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 1/4in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap, central drilled hole and 7/8in. recoil pad, fore-end with crosspin release and horn finial, weight 14lb.
