A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK CONTINENTAL SPORTING RIFLE, POSSIBLY RUSSIAN, no visible serial number,
circa 1740, with octagonal swamped 32 1/2in. barrel signed in white metal on the top-flat 'I.M.A.T.P' (possibly Old Cyrillic) and rifled in straight grooves, lined touch-hole, solid top-tang, plain radiused lock with bevel-edged bar, broad carved frizzen-spring, semi rain-proof pan and swan-necked cock, walnut full-stock with carved and moulded margins around the ramrod channel, furniture, cheek-piece and top-tang, brass furniture (strong traces of gilding) and wood ramrod
