circa 1853, with ovoid 34in barrel, the flat sighting plane signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS LONDON, shallow block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight marked 'WESTLEY RICHARDS REGISTERED 1852' (some details absent because of the central slide cut-out), additional fixed notch standing rear-sight, borderline engraved top-tang, borderline engraved military style lock signed 'WESTLEY RICHARDS', plain hammer with chequered spur, walnut full-stock, the fore-end held via two un-escutcheoned barrel-keys, iron furniture including swivels and cup-ended ramrod, fitted with a period leather sling, strong amount of finish remaining
