circa 1853, with 30in. laminate barrels, the top-rib signed 'GASQUOINE & DYSON, MARKET PLACE, MANCHESTER No 1438' (rubbed), bead fore-sight, gamebird engraved to the rib-end at breech, platinum vented plugs, chisel engraved top-tang and locks, the scrolled ground inhabited by gamebirds and hunting dogs, the bars of the locks signed within banners 'GASQUOINE & DYSON', dipped lock tails, en-suite dolphin headed hammers, chequered walnut half-stock, iron furniture with chisel engraved scroll-work, plain ramrod thimbles and brass mounted ebony ramrod, much period finish and in its makers walnut case lined and compartmented in green baize, parchment trade label inside lid and including a shot and a powder flask and a three-piece cleaning rod with jag (lock absent from case)
