built to Riviere's patent 5175 of 1825, with browned octagonal micro-rifled 24 3/4in. barrel, the top-flat signed 'RIVIERE RIFLE GUN MAKER LONDON', small dove-tailed fore-sight, shallow standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding blades, blued breech-block with twin platinum lines and vented plug, deeply border and scroll engraved Riviere Patent boxlock action with semi internal hammer, the back-strap marked in a panel 'RIVIERE PATENT 234', French polished walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture including spurred lower tang, patent double-set trigger (currently not setting), engraved ramrod throat and brass mounted ebony ramrod
