Provenance: In his definitive book 'James Woodward & Sons - Its History and Enduring Legacy', Dr Nicholas Harlow mentions gun no. 7162 as being completed in July 1943 for a 'W.P. Scholes' as a 20-bore with 26in. barrels and 3in. chambers. The records note using 'Holland & Holland barrels' and it is likely the gun was made using pre-War parts or forging due to the shortage of materials at this time.

Research from the vendor identifies some of the workmen involved in making the gun; Actioner - Bannister, Barrel filer - Lane/Wheeler, Stocker (fore-part) - Boulter, Engraver - Kell
