A 18TH CENTURY INDIAN KHANDA SWORD,
circa 1750, possibly Mahrattan, with European style straight 40in. single-edged blade with broad shallow central fuller extending nearly to the tip and narrower fuller along the back edge, traces of stamped symbols to the central fuller near hilt, iron guard with integral arabesque langets extending 4in. along the blade on each side and riveted to the blade at tip, broad knuckle-bow adjoining the reversed bowl pommel, a large slightly curved spike extending back from the centre, the whole worn and lightly cleaned, hilt re-bound
