A 19TH CENTURY PERSIAN SHAMSHIR,
circa 1825, with curved 30 1/2in. blade false edged for the last 9in., blind shallow fuller partially bordered by a further interrupted narrow fuller, large panel containing an arabic inscription to the right side near hilt, a tughra and a further symbol engraved to the left, traces of previous gilt koftgari decoration, moulded iron cross-guard with carved drooping quillions, horn grip-scales with protrusion to the pommel, lacking scabbard
