A 12-BORE SIDELOCK EJECTOR, serial no. 13174,
for 1920, 30in. nitro barrels (loose), the rib engraved 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON. 35. CARRS LANE. BIRMINGHAM,' (faint) and with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, best border and acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and renewed finish, 14 3/4in. figured replacement stock including 7/8in. wooden extension, weight 6lb. 1oz.
Provenance: The Lot is supplied with a photocopy from the makers records listing the gun as '1 Best hammerless ejector gun, steel barrels, 30", 12 bore, left mod, toplever, T.B. sidelock 17/16 . 2. 14 ¾. Cast 3/16, 6lb 10oz.' and made for 'F.V. Johnson Esq. Clayton Hall Newcastle Staff', dated 16th August 1920
