A CASED PAIR OF 40-BORE FLINTLOCK BRASS-FRAMED POCKET PISTOLS SIGNED BOND, THETFORD, no visible serial numbers,
circa 1825, with blued round turn-off 1 1/2in. barrels, Birmingham proofs, brass borderline and trophy engraved actions with central cocks and concealed automatic triggers, top-tang safes also locking the pans, walnut slab-sided grips with oval white metal escutcheons to the wrists engraved 'W.C.', much finish remaining and in a mahogany faced walnut case re-purposed for these pistols, lined and compartmented in blue velvet, facsimile trade-label inside lid and with a good bag-shaped flask, their barrel-key, a scissors mould and a small quantity of lead balls
