A RARE UNITED STATES NON-REGULATION FRENCH-MADE INFANTRY OFFICER'S SWORD BY COULAUX WITH BELTS AND BUCKLE,
circa 1862, with 32in. slightly curved single-edged blade etched on both sides with foliate scrolls and martial symbols, with 'US' to one side and 'E. PLURIBUS / UNUM' over, ricasso with Coulaux inspection marks, blade back etched 'Coulaux & Cie., Klingenthal', brass hilt with pierced guard depicting roses, wire-bound fishskin grip, black leather scabbard with brass fittings and two suspension loops, black leather belt and shoulder-strap, E. Pluribus Unum shielded eagle brass buckle, blade stained, scabbard seam with some failed stitching, rig leather with some tears
