circa 1896, 42 3/8in. nitro reproved damascus barrel with faceted breech section, engraved 'E. LINGARD & CO. 144. VICTORIA ST. GRIMSBY.' (rubbed), 3 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. full choke, carved percussion fence, back-action lock with rebounding hammer, border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining very slight traces of colour-hardening and sheltered areas, 13 7/8in. figured stock including horn buttplate, fore-end with Deeley & Edge release catch and horn finial, weight 8lb. 14oz.
