circa 1875, with blued octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, the top sighting rib signed 'CONSTRUCTED FOR MESSR'S GYE & MONCRIEFF, LONDON', the top rib further engraved with a monogram 'E.B.' below a fox above a wreath, break-open frame with twin Pryse-type locking-bars, stepped plain six-shot cylinder with automatic ejection on opening, double action mechanism with guarded trigger and spurred hammer, semi saw-handled chequered walnut grip, domed butt-cap with provision for lanyard ring, strong amount of finish in sheltered areas
