AN 18-BORE FLINTLOCK DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1805, with browned 32in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'UTTING, LONDON' (exterior of left hand barrel deeply scored near muzzle), starburst engraved to breech end and top-tang, twin platinum lines at breech, further scroll engraving and broad sighting groove to top-tang, curved and bevel-edged step-tailed lockplates signed 'UTTING', rollers to the frizzen springs, rain-proof pans, engraved hammers (both top-jaws and screws absent), re-finished walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist (rubbed smooth), iron furniture including raised pistol-grip lower tang engraved with a starburst and border and gamescene engraved trigger-guard bow with pineapple finial, provision for ramrod (missing)
