A CANVAS AND LEATHER FULL-LENGTH RIFLE CASE,
measuring approx 46 1/2in., the interior lined with maroon baize, a leather gold-tooled James Purdey trade label, brass lock (including key), the lid exterior with the initials 'T.D.S.P.'
Provenance: Possibly of Tom Purdey of the Purdey brothers.
" The caption on the photograph of Atholl Purdey in the Longroom with his two sons ( from their book " The Shotgun " ) confirms that Tom Purdey's initials were T.D.S.P , the same as on this case "
