circa 1865, with round 6 1/4in. barrel, octagonal breech section, plunge ejector, florally engraved six-shot cylinder with external ratchet locking, engraved open iron frame, guarded trigger, exposed hammer and chequered bag-shaped wood grips with lanyard ring at heel, the whole reblacked over shallow pitting
