circa 1872, with round 3 1/2in. barrel, raised sighting-rib signed by the maker and with patent dates to 1865, the first half of barrel period engraved with American scrolls, border engraving to the flute alongside sighting rib, american scroll engraved frame, the fluted cylinder en-suite with further borders inside the flutes, exposed hammer, spur trigger, engraved back-strap and smooth rosewood birdshead grips, the blued finish faded throughout
