circa 1750, with heavily swamped round iron 7 1/2in. barrel, the top of breech engraved with a borderline needle and tear-drop and marked 'LONDON', makers mark and London proofs, slightly curved radiused lock with borderline engraving and pointed tail and signed 'HAWKINS' below the pan, bridleless frizzen, walnut full-stock with swollen pommel capped with a brass butt-cap with long side-spurs, engraved trigger-guard bow and finial, pierced side-plate in the form of a mythical beast and turned ramrod pipes with brass tipped ramrod
