A SCARCE 7.65mm (PARA) SERVICE-PISTOL, MODEL '1900 SWISS CONTRACT LUGER', serial no. 3980,
one of a batch of 713 pistols produced in 1905, with 4 5/8in. barrel (counterbored for approximately 1in. at muzzle), blued receiver, the bridge with the Swiss cross in star device, 'DWM' monogram to toggle, dish cocking pieces, chequered walnut grips, grip-safety to back-strap, straw finish to ancillaries and correct un-numbered magazine (wood base broken on one side), retaining much original finish but heavily pitted around outside of muzzle
