SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, treble-grip action with carved feathered serpentine fences, toplever gold-inlaid 'W.R.PAPE', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, profusely carved in relief with stylised floral and foliate designs on a matted background and with beaded bordering, 15in. figured stock (cracked through and repaired at hand) with decorative recessed chequered side panels, bolstered fore-end, weight 6lb. 4oz., in a canvas and leather hammergun case
