BIRMINGHAM.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, action incorporating later modification Needham 1862 patent self half-cocking action, with retracting firing pins, patent no. 2709 of 20th October 1865, use number 1024, forward facing sidelever simultaneously operating external cams to cock the hammers whilst the internal spindle pushes back the pins as it rotates, non-rebounding locks, forward facing sidelever simultaneously operating external cams to cock the hammers whilst the internal spindle pushes back the pins as it rotates, border and partial scroll engraving, 14 1/4in. figured stock including steel buttplate, weight 6lb. 7oz.
