AN EXTREMELY RARE .750 FLINTLOCK SHORT MUSKET, MODEL '1832 PATTERN SERGEANT'S FUSIL', no visible serial number,
circa 1833, with in the white 33in. barrel, block fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, solid top-tang with rounded tip, plain flat lock signed 'TOWER' on the pointed tail and with a crown and 'G.R.' device below pan, semi rain-proof pan and plain ring-necked cock, walnut full-stock, brass furniture and iron ramrod swelling at the tip
Provenance: This rare fusil is referenced on page 141 of H. Blackmore's 'British Military Firearms' and illustrated on page 149 of the same volume. Only 800 were ever set up as a result of the decision to issue Sergeants with fusils instead of pikes. They are seldom encountered today
