A .750 FLINTLOCK BROWN BESS TYPE MUSKET SIGNED WITH A RAMPANT LION DATED 1817, no visible serial number, with 39" bright barrel fitted with a block front-sight and fixed vee block rear-sight, borderline engraved lock struck with the rampant lion cypher of the East India Company to the centre and dated 1817 on the tail, fitted with a ring-neck cock, full stocked with with brass mounts including three rammer pipes of Brown Bess style, butt-plate, flat sideplate, scroll trigger-guard of Baker's pattern, butt stamped with a faint Jaipur arsenal mark and having an inset brass roundel engraved with a Hindi inscription, the musket is complete with sling swivels. East India Company rod, and a P53 style socket bayonet, the musket has a repair to the stock above to the top left of the lock and another in front to the trigger-guard tang where a small steel plate has been fitted.
