A RARE .41 (RIMFIRE) REMINGTON OVER-UNDER DERRINGER, TYPE I MODEL NO. 1, serial no. 962?, circa 1866, with 3in flip-up barrel group, signed on the left barrel rib 'REMINGTON ARMS CO. ILION N.Y.', and on the right 'ELLIOT'S PATENT DEC. 12. 1865, frame with rotating locking lever, spur trigger, two piece plain walnut birdshead grips, worn over all with some pitting, traces of nickel remaining, worthy of careful restoration.
Provenance: This is a rare variant of a Remington over and under Derringer from the first year of production 1866, the estimated quantity being just 2000.
