AN UNUSUAL BELGIAN 9mm DOUBLE-ACTION 5-SHOT PINFIRE REVOLVER SIGNED SCHOLBERG & GADET, no visible serial number, circa 1860s, with 6 in. round to octagonal sighted barrel marked 'SCHOLBERG & GADET A LIÈGE', frame stamped 'J.J. DELMOTTE / BREVETTE', frame and cylinder with scroll engraving, stepped handle with wooden grips, scroll-engraved back-strap, trigger-guard and butt-cap, side-mounted ejection rod, unusual reloading system whereby the sprung drop-down underbarrel lever allows the barrel and cylinder to slide forward, worn with some deep blinded pitting and missing its lanyard ring, 10 1/2 in. overall length
