A CASED 28-BORE PERCUSSION SINGLE-BARRELLED RIFLE SIGNED CHARLES OSBORNE, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with well rebrowned 30 3/8in. octagonal barrel, diminutive blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight with two additional folding leaves, colour hardened scroll engraved breech-block with platinum plug, borderline and scroll engraved reblued bar-action lock signed 'CHAS. OSBORNE', colour hardened hammer (spur repaired), restocked with a chequered walnut half-stock, iron furniture (one barrel key escutcheon replaced), chequered spur to the lower tang and eyelets for a sling, in a period mahogany case lined and compartmented in green baize with a number of assembled accessories including a flask and mould, reproduction Osborne trade label (currently not attached)
