* A .38 (RIMLESS SMOKELESS) COLT MODEL 1902 (MILITARY) SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL, serial no. 37526, with period holster,
made in 1915 with 6in. barrel, sighted slide marked 'AUTOMATIC COLT CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS', the left hand side marked 'PATENTED APRIL 20, 1897, SEPTEMBER 9, 1902' and 'COLTS PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. USA', together with the 'rampant horse' trademark, full-length frame with external hammer, chequered hard-rubber grips embossed with 'COLT' and the 'rampant horse' trademark (missing two grip-screws), lanyard swivel to left hand side of grip-base, blued magazine (unmarked), the whole with a fair amount of original blued finish, together with a period leather full-flap holster for same, the inside of flap inked 'LIEUT. J. PATERSON-LANE, PORT ELIZABETH' and '154 PROSPECT RD, WALMER 6065'
