HENRY ADKIN 12-BORE ROTARY-UNDERLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 911, circa 1870, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'HENRY ADKIN. BEDFORD.' (right wall thickness at 19), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding locks with inswept hammers (left hammer slightly fractured and missing retaining screw), border and acanthus scroll engraving surrounding vignettes of hounds flushing feather, the triggerguard with a bolting hare, 114 1/4in. figured stock including steel buttplate, weight 7lb. 5oz.
