circa 1850, with micro-rifled octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel, engraved band to the radiused muzzle, the top-flat signed 'EGAN, BRADFORD', small blade fore-sight, scroll engraving to top-flat at throat, wedge barrel key, Bentley's screw rammer with tensioning spring, plain six-shot cylinder with engraved band to leading edge, scroll engraved nipple-guard, rounded frame with border and scroll engraving, slightly offset scroll engraved hammer with long spur, guarded trigger, finely chequered walnut grips (small loss to toe of right), engraved back-strap with moulded grip-cap and engraved central trap
