circa 1810, with side by side blued 5 3/4in. barrels (possibly slightly shortened), moulded top-tang with shallow sighting groove, flat bevel-edged locks with stepped tails and signed 'MAYES' below the rainproof pans, ring-necked cocks and roller frizzens, walnut full-stock with chequered bag-shaped grip, spurred iron trigger-guard and brass tipped replacement ramrod
